In June 2014, Park Hyatt Vienna opened its doors in the former headquarters of the Länderbank, right in the heart of Vienna’s first district. Thanks to its central location, you are just a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of Vienna. The Graben and Kohlmarkt are just around the corner, while Kärntner Straße, the Hofburg, the Albertina, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum are also within easy reach.
The hotel features 143 spacious rooms, including 35 suites, The Bank restaurant, the Cafe am Hof, the Lounge—a living-room-style space perfect for afternoon tea—and the Living Room, where guests can enjoy a wide selection of whiskeys and cigars.
With an average size of 45 square meters, the rooms are among the largest in Vienna. Due to the building’s history, no two rooms are alike.

As soon as you step through the grand revolving door into the lobby, you feel transported into another world. The mix of classic and modern design creates a unique charm.
To the left, you’ll find the check-in area; straight ahead leads to The Bank restaurant. To the right, you’ll find the Living Room, the Lounge, and the Cafe am Hof.
A glass elevator takes you to the guest rooms.

Although the hotel does not have its own parking garage, it is connected underground to the Am Hof public garage.
Check-in
After a brief and friendly check-in, I made my way to the room on my own, as per my request.
The Diplomat Suite spans over 115 square meters. In addition to a spacious entrance area, the suite includes a study, a dining area, a living room, a bedroom, and an oversized bathroom with a private dressing area.
From the living room, you have a stunning view of Tuchlauben.
The bathroom (bigger than my first apartment) is equipped with Blaise Moutin products and features a bathtub, a large rain shower, double sinks, and a walk-in dressing room.
The suite is truly fantastic and in impeccable condition. The layout is well thought out, and the combination of modern and classic elements works beautifully. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the hotel and worked flawlessly.

The entrance area leads into the spacious living area.

Straight from the dining area, you enter the bright and airy living room.

I particularly appreciated the intuitive light switches at the head of the bed—far less guesswork compared to rooms with a hundred scattered switches where you have no idea what controls what.

Restaurant
Breakfast is served at The Bank restaurant, the former banking hall of Länderbank. Guests can enjoy a lavish buffet featuring fresh fruits (including passion fruits you rarely even find in Asia where they grow!), muesli, and freshly prepared dishes from the open show kitchen. Breakfast is available on weekdays from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM and on weekends from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

The Living Room, with its dark wood paneling and Chesterfield furniture, exudes the ambiance of an English club and invites guests to sample a variety of whiskeys and cigars.

The Lounge, located on the mezzanine level and bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, provides the perfect spot to relax with a glass of sparkling wine or tea after a long day of shopping.

Spa and Fitness
The hotel’s basement houses a well-equipped fitness area featuring treadmills, bikes, a free weights section, and strength training machines.

The Arany Spa, located in the former vault of the Länderbank, includes a wet area with a sauna, steam bath, and six spacious treatment rooms. Additionally, the 15-meter-long pool is a highlight of the wellness offerings.

Conclusion
The Park Hyatt Vienna remains one of the top luxury hotels in Vienna, offering excellent service and a prime location. However, with the opening of the Rosewood Vienna at Petersplatz, there is now an even more central alternative in the city. For those seeking the absolute best location, the Rosewood presents a compelling option. Nonetheless, the Park Hyatt continues to be one of the city’s finest choices, thanks to its unique ambiance, spacious rooms, and top-tier amenities.
